Cooker Extractor: Fitting to External Ducting

Hi All,

I've recently purchased a new extractor to replace an old one in a house we have just moved into.

The outlet from the extractor itself is 150mm and came shipped with a plastic reducer which takes it down to 120mm.

The existing ducting is 150mm but has a separate aluminium crimped end screwed on the end of it which reduces it to 120mm (gradually increasing in size like a cone shape up to the 150mm ducting tube).

What is the most effective way to connect my extractor to the ducting? Should I remove the crimped end and not bother with the supplied plastic extractor reducer? This way I am connecting 150mm (directly from the extractor) to 150mm (the ducting) . Then would I just use some kind of coupler?

That sounds sensible.

Is it solid or flexible ducting? Elbows, straight couplers etc are available.
