Why go on a safari when you can watch wildlife right from the comfort of your hotel?

Very impressive.
28 years ago, my first wife and I had our honeymoon in Kenya and, as part of that holiday, stayed in Treetops for a night. When it got dark, everyone was ushered up to the roof to watch as a line of elephants trooped up to the salt-lick next to the building.
We were all asked to remain silent for obvious reasons but, when the matriarch let out an enormous fart, followed by one after the other of the rest of them (as if she'd given them leave to do the same) everybody couldn't help but fall about laughing.

WOW JUST WOW.imagine sitting there watching the nellies walk on by.
It was fantastic. You could also go down the stairs to an enclosed hut with an narrow eye-slit from which you could see the elephants within a few feet. And on the way back up, if you were 'lucky', you might bump into a baboon sitting on the steps.

Yes, it cost an arm and a leg, but the experience of a lifetime.
