Heating turning on at night

Hi all,

I have a Worcester Greenstar 30cdi combi boiler that keeps firing up during the night. I'm not talking about it firing up to heat the water every now and again, I mean heating running full blast.

Now I had a Salus thermostat and wireless receiver, but I've recently replacer it with a Tado smart thermostat and wireless receiver, and the problem still happens.

The thermostat can be set to 16 over night, but I'll wake up at random times boiling and when I go and check, the boiler is chugging away heating the house.

Disconnect the control gear (receiver) from the boiler and see if fault still occurs. Do you have anything else electronically connected to the boiler: frost stat?

Combi boiler as I said in the first post, and no separate hot water cylinder.

I didn't want to disconnect the receiver, but maybe i'll have to do that one night to see if it happens. As I say, I've replaced the receiver and it's happened with both, so I doubt it's anything to do with the receiver.

I've no idea about a Frost Stat... how would I know if there is one?

Where is the boiler located? If it's inside then unlikely to have a frost stat but just trying to rule things out! If you isolate the boiler from roomstat and receiver and the fault reoccurs then it's on the boiler itself and you'll need someone to come and diagnose which component(s) are defective.

Ah right. Yeah boiler in the kitchen. It needs a service anyway so I'll call the plumber.
