A house I'm looking at buying has the condensate pipe from the boiler (Bosch Greenstar something-or-other combi) running down into the garage, and then into a bucket.

It wouldn't be impossible to have it drain correctly - not least because it's in the kitchen and I'm a bit puzzled that they took this step when they installed it.

Does this imply that there might be other corners cut on the installation?

could be that they can't find suitable termination ( or laziness ) or the termination point they did use is susceptible to blocking

When most houses start at a £300,000 purchase price, I don't understand why you are even thinking of a problem which probably would cost no more than £84 to have rectified!

Probably because (apparently unlike you) he's considered the implications and realised that the boiler hasn't been installed correctly, and therefore might not have a Gas Safe certificate. It's possible that the installer wasn't even registered

OP - I'd be asking to see both the boiler's commissioning certificate (in the installation manual) and the Gas Safe Registration certificate for the installation prior to accepting that it's just the condensate pipe that's incorrect. There could be more issues here that your untrained eye hasn't spotted

So you would charge a total of £84 inclusive of labour and materials to terminate condense discharge pipe to outside?

Seems odd that Agiles call out/diagnostic fee is £84....although he is prepared to charge a total of £84 inclusive of labour and materials to terminate condense discharge pipe to waste????
I would say £84 is a fookin steal....especially so if condense discharge is to be run to outside using correct sized waste pipe.....I'm not to sure if Transport for London will charge for two bus tickets bearing in mind Agile along with the drill and core cutters will possibly take up two seats...I'm not too sure a 4m length of 32mm waste pipe is allowed on a bus???

You can bet the condense discharge termination is possibly a bastad of a job which is why it terminates into a bucket.:ROFLMAO:
I've done a few boiler replacements whereby condense waste termination has taken longer to install than that of the fookin boiler..:ROFLMAO:

It's amazing how many of the calls, for help, we get are from people who have "just moved in to a new property"; only to discover that the boiler/heating/hot water/ drains/rad(s)/taps/showers don't work!
What does a surveyor actually do these days?
I wouldn't make an offer on a property until all of the above and more (electrical; windows; locks; doors etc) had been assessed by me or a trusted fellow tradesman!
Most of us wouldn't buy a car without our own mechanic checking it over!
