Sorry for late reply, just an update:
I did what you said and the boiler fired up and heating started working. This now confirms the receiver is faulty thanks.
The only thing was the burner light remained flashing even when the burner was not fired up. After checking on forum I found out that this could be due to a constant call for heat and because the room temp was already where it should be, that is the reason the burner didn't fire up. If I turned the dial to max temp then the burner fired up and the light remain still and not flashing.
I guess this is not the ideal thing to leave as it is as does this mean it is constantly keeping the pump working which can't be good for it or can I leave the dial to minimum temp which I'm guessing is 5c ( prob same as thermostat ) and it will only keep flashing light but only will fire up if I manually increase the temp from the dial ?
In meantime, I'm awaiting honeywell to get back to me by Monday with a response on whether the bdr91 receiver can pair up with cm61ng stat .

The BDR91 is compatible; but you will have to "bind" it to the BDR91 as follows:
During the binding procedure keep approximately 1m distance between the room unit and the BDR91.
1. Press and hold the BDR91 push button for 15 sec to reset previously stored data. The red LED will start to flash at 0.1 s on/0.9 s off. Release the push button.
2. Press and hold the BDR91 push button for 5 sec to enter the binding mode. Red LED flashing at 0.5s on/0.5 s off confirms the binding mode has been entered.
3. Move the CM67NG slider to the OFF position (for CM61NG push the OFF button) and press the TEMP UP, TEMP DOWN and PROG 1 buttons together. The CM67/61NG will display InSt
4. Press the "i" button to send the binding signal. The red LED is switched off to confirm successful binding operation.
If red LED still flashes push the "i" button again until binding is successful.
Test as follows:
To check the RF communication move the CM67NG slider into OFF position (for CM61NG press the OFF button) then press the TEMP UP, TEMP DOWN
and PROG 2 buttons for 3 seconds. The unit will display tESt and it will send test signals to the receiver switching the green LED on and off every 5
seconds (relay output will remain off) for a maximum of 10 minutes.
NOTE: If the green LED is not switched at specified intervals follow the BINDING procedures again.

Why not just post the link from Google..
1. Couldn't find a link - nothing on Honeywell's site.
2. I had a copy of the instructions on my PC from when I owned a CM67 - about 10 year ago.
3. My instructions referred to the HC60NG so, to avoid confusion, I edited them to refer to the BDR91.

Thanks a lot, will pick one up then this week and once I have got it I will update again shortly. Honeywell prob get back this week so won't wait on for them .
Well, here's a response from Honeywell..seems like il have to return the bdr91 as according to them its NOT compatible, its a good job I ordered the cm61 model shortly after too otherwise would have been more time wasted....

Further to the escalation process please note that unfortunately the units are not compatible.
The wiring for the BDR91 it is not similar to the R6660D and you will need an electrician to make the necessary wiring.
Regarding the compatibility of the CM61NG to the BDR91 unfortunately they are not compatible. The CM61NG can operate with the HC60 receiver box.
Please see the attachment with the user guide of the CM61RF unit.

Really?
The writer has confused the earlier CM61 RF (~ 450 MHz) with the CM61NG RF (~880 MHz)
The R6660D is also called the HC60NG, and is compatible with the BDR91.
PS There's a new HC60NG for sale on ebay for £20.
D hailsham, you may well be correct as most sellers on ebay do say it IS compatible, however seeing as the seller had not got round to despatching it yet, I managed to get him to cancel the order as I had also purchased the Original R6660D receiver at the same price of £20 on ebay too, so that should hopefully be here tomorrow or Thursday at latest so will connect that up and update again.

Ok final update:
I got the r6660d identical receiver for £20 and just removed the front plate with the circuit rather than the whole unit and replaced the facial with the new one and everything is working fine after pairing up. Thanks to all for their input .
