Hi, we have recently refurbured one of the bedrooms and are now moving on to decorating.
I've used all different types of paint, from B&Q own, Crown, Dulux, Johnston (? from Screwfix), Wickes, some case good, some bad.

I don't want to be re-painting the ceiling & walls every year or so, rather opt for a better paint now, for better finish for longer.

I'm painting above the picture rail & ceiling one colour (white), its lined and then papered with anaglypta.

Would you guys offer any recommendations on paint? I'm based near Bolton, so we have all the big shops etc close by.

Thanks!

Rob

What have you been doing to your ceilings that you need to repaint them every year? In what way is cheap emulsion not going to do the job perfectly well?

ha ha, nothing, but paint seems to absorb in and look grubby after a while. No smokers in the house, but 3 multi-fuel stoves, so we do see a bit of soot in the air during the cold winter periods.
Also, would rather have a solid, even ceiling, cant be doing with patchy work.

What would you recommend, satin, matt?

Thanks

Thanks MaxDread!
Been looking online at reviews and Dulux seems to come out well.
Will feedback how I've got on. ;)
