I need to plaster a room(first floor)that has two internal and 2 external walls. As I understand I will need insulated plasterboard for external walls. What specification should I use? Thanks
Yes technically if you're re plastering you need to get the u value down to something like 0.3, you could do that in most solid walls by celotex backed plasterboard something like 70mm in total, you can use the calculator on their web site.
If you're worried about damp coming from behind, you can Mount it on a frame and ventilate behind.
If you're worried about condensation, you can put celotex on the wall and a vapour barrier in front, then attach normal plasterboard to battens in front. Good luck!
So, I have shortlisted three products(below). Someone more learned/experienced enlighten me which one should i go for.
1. Kingspan k118 60mm thickness
2. Gyproc thermaline super 70mm thickness
3. Celotex 100mm + normal 12.5mm plasterboard.
