I have a 4 gang modular switch where an extractor and fuse have been decommissioned after a kitchen refit, leaving me with only 2 lights to switch on a double faceplate. Is there such a thing as a double face plate with just 2 light switches to tidy it up?

There are certainly double face plates with just two dimmer switches:

(click here for details) , and you could change those dimmer modules for push on-push off switches (without dimming) if you wanted.

You could also probably achieve what you want using modular or grid systems.

Kind Regards, John

Hi, you could install a 4way grid and use two blanks each side of the two switches in the centre,

Good idea.
The current MEM 4 way grid plate has 3 switches and a fuse holder. I could space the 2 switches I need with blanking plates between, although I may have a spare fuse holder somewhere :)

I've seen euro module switches that take up 2 euro ways, a pair of those would fill a 2 gang plate.

Indeed - so their idea of "usual" seems to differ from your view that a 3-way plate is "usually fitted into" (did you mean "onto"?) a 1-gang box.

No Joan, i mean into.

Fair enough. In that case, I can't really think of any faceplate (apart, perhaps, from an architrave one) that would fit inside a single gang box!

Is it Friday already?!

Kind Regards, John

now i know what the W stands for :)

Kind regards.
