Morning girls & boys,

Been sanding my landing floor and most paint is off after using the 40 grit paper.

As you can see from the photos, there are cracks and little holes with paint in. What’s the best way to remove? I don't really want to oversand, I like them looking their age, but the paint has to go.

I reckon a tedious session with a Stanley knife and bradawl is unavoidable but hoping someone knows a pro top tip which will take 30 mins….

Pick out the paint as best as possible & then re-sand with a heavy grit and a lighter grit. At the moment you've barely scraped the boards not sanded them.

Thanks. I'm trying to sand as little as possible, just clean them up really, I like the dings and them showing their age.

I'll maybe go over again with 40, then a pass with 80 and 120 and pick out the stubborn bits.
