My old nemesis, the Baxi 105he, has struck back. After an epic battle to change a condensate unit filled with dead wasps (I kid you not), whereby I valiantly struggled and won against the poorly installed hose clamp making it almost impossible to remove, I prevailed! Which is why I thought, when my boiler stopped again it just needed the condensate unit emptying, duly done but, alas, still no hotwater.
However, in my quest for accessing the unit, I discovered a lot of rust on the nut of the diverter switch. I suspect, but cannot be sure, that simply replacing the nut, and the bit of now rusty metal nearby, will solve all my problems. However, the diverter is whole new territory for me - I don't muck around with electric or gas, I know my limits. So, basically I'm asking if (a) it would be dangerous to fiddle with that area of the boiler, (b) if it's actually an indicator of a more serious issue, and (c) would just changing the nut and metal bit be all I'd need to change?
Thank you all who reply!

No just isolate the cold water inlet, open a hot tap till water stops , cover the pcb case with a towel and polythene bag to prevent water damage , turn off electical supply to boiler, expect a small amount of water to come out when you split the diaphragm housing, if you can get a small dish below it to catch any water then great , if not another small towel will be fine.

All done and dusted and back up and running. The old diaphragm had a hole in. Thanks for the info guys.

No problem. Commented earlier in the thread and got a reply back so thought it wouldn't be seen as an issue. No problem, I've duplicated the post in the other thread.
