Just taken delivery of the above for a job, why in heavens name do they have three 40mm knockouts in the gland plate, just had to order a selection of reducers from RS, Grrrr

Drill out the knockout, then the earthing would be relying on the tags holding the blank in place, don't fancy that

Knockouts are never the right size/where you want them.

I had to drill a 40mm hole today for a 5c 35mm SWA, it was a proteus 100A fuse though, so 20mm holes!! :notworthy:

I also had to drill some 32mm holes in a 4mod enclosure for stuffing tail glands. There was no space so had to go between two knockouts. One fell in, but thankfully those wiska glands with reducers are so huge you'd never know.

Easier to make a small hole bigger than the reverse, but still a PITA

but still a PITA

If you use sheet metal punches, then it actually ends up being easier than if the box had no knock-outs to begin with, because you don't even need to drill the centre hole for the punch's bolt! No mess created at all.

And no guarantee that the punch will be in the right place, and stay in the right place.
