Must say, I'm pleased as punch. BC has been today and signed off my walls to DPC, drains and steels. Being a first timer at all of this extension malarkey I was very nervous something might get picked up and I'd have to do some heavy remedial work. But, all good.

Thanks to all those who answer my daft questions on a daily basis. Onwards and upwards!

Great success indeed.

He spent about 20 mins. Seemed to have a good look and poke around.

I can smell the relief, when my bco ok'd my oversite at dpc level he said next visit was for roof timbers, 2 months later and at first floor joist level with the cavity brickwork I bottled it and got him back round, couldn't sleep for fear of having done something wrong and hearing horror stories of demolition due to incorrect cavity work... Big relief when he had a good look and said crack on...:D

You're right about the relief. I am only at DPC and drains and I was stressing about having to knock something down or take something up and dig.

Roof timbers next visit for me too. He was useful and got out his span tables to check my timber selection. Also went away and looked up my floor insulation selection (jablite eps 70 100mm) and emailed me today with the minimum required P/A ratio. I already did my calcs and thought I'd "get away" with it, but it was good to know BC won't kick up a stink.

Wow - I've never had more than around 2 minutes. Sometimes as little as 20 seconds. I've only ever done full-plans though. I can see what that'd be stressful.

Mine was full plans too. Perhaps he has spotted that I'm a have-a-go hero!
