Economics of the mad house!

I wouldnt have thought Right Wing voters would use the term, since Neo liberal is a perjorative term to describe free market capitalism, policies of UK Tory government and to some extent the EU.

There is nothing intrinsically wrong with capitalism it's simply how it is implemented.

You like to use Venezuela as a pejorative against Socialism but the problem is the issues causing the problem in Venezuela are not actually all due to socialism.

The more progressive and developed economies are mixed economies that have a handle on inequality.

Bet if you go to the quacks for your over 70 inspection and Doc says you have xyz wrong, you blame Brexit.

You can always put your head in the sand and avoid looking at the obvious problems that are coming

What does that mean ?
Well maybe you could tell us what resources the UK has?

There is of course our dwindling oil supply (that we failed to invest like Norway), and a large amount of coal (that maggie flooded)...

But apart from that?

Can we feed ourselves? - no!
Can we provide our own power? - no!

We rely on foreign imports/investment and we have just decided to alienate ourselves from the biggest trading block around!

Does that make any sense to you?

So therefore the only 'resource' is us...

And we are (under the current 'business model') to be exploited as much as possible!

When lost for an argument, notchy simply brings out that worn out record...

You make it so easy to laugh at you :)

Ah bless, Ellal doesnt understand the basics.

Note to Ellal: go and look up the factors of production. You might find the things youve missed out that explain why UK is the worlds sixth biggest economy.

If your worried about a lack of coal you may thinking about the industrial revolution. Try thinking in more recent terms :ROFLMAO:

Still the largest energy producer of any EU country.

Can all other EU countries feed themselves? - No
Can all other EU countries provide their own power ? - No

Just a silly, UK knocking comment.

The UK is number 9 on the table of countries with the largest exports.
Not bad for such a little island... and we've plenty of resources. That very much includes fuels, chemicals and food. Am pretty sure the UK isn't going to starve.

Do you think the UK is going to stop importing after Brexit?

No, although it will become more expensive. For some firms it will make financial sense to relocate to the Euro bloc.
Yes, and that's some of the reasons why brexit is madness.
But am glad you agree that we've not alienated ourselves.

Let's turn the knife. 7 out of 10 of the top 10 ranked univerities in the EU occupying nos 1,2 & 3. By far the most noble laureates in the EU (yep even removing non uk born nationals)

The foremost financial centre of the world. 2nd Biggest exporter of TV programmes in the world, dwarfing anything from the EU. 3rd or 4th largest music industry in the world.

7th in the world for applying for international patents, not too bad for a non industrialised country.

Top of the medal tables in the European games this year.

I could go on .... but clearly in certain people's eyes... we're rubbish.

oh up until Bangkok of last year. London was the most visited city in the world. (no idea why though)
