That generation has not experienced the process of recovery that independent Great Britain acheived after the hardships of war time.

That slow but sucessful process was with eyes for the future of Britain.

The younger generation has no experience of an independent Britain.

Do you mean The United Kingdom? did we recover from WW2 independently, or maybe we took advantage of the US financed ERP

Caused by German cars because they lied about particulates.
Road Transport is the biggest polluter:

As the percentage of diesel cars produce 14% of pollution and as German cars are only about 14% of all UK cars (assuming they are all diesel for this exercise), so the percentage of these German cars is about 2% of all road transport.
I think better returns can be found elsewhere to reduce pollution in London.

What is interesting about it? -the fact, you consider a strawman gives weight to your argument?

Are you saying anything an American journalist writes cant be vaid because of the American political system.

Perhaps your intellect has given way to your emotion :ROFLMAO:

I thought just that.

Maybe some of the older Brits will never come to terms with the fact that the UK no longer has an empire, and is no longer a Great Power.

I agree with what you say hear. Why try to compete with China and India...
We are not the empire anymore.
Big business in this country think we can compete by chucking mass people at the problem. Except we can never again compete with man power but with quality and boxing clever, we can. Find our rightful place in this world and improve the quality of life.other countrys prioritise on .

Hmm a Conservative right wing think tanker is anti EU.

He provides no policy prescription and comes from an organisation that promotes

dedicated to applying the Judeo-Christian moral tradition to critical issues of public policy”

I prefer separation of policy from religion.

Bit early to be on the sauce isn't it?

But London is less polluted than Paris now, so why should it get worse.

Perhaps it's because Theresa, and some of the more rabid Brextremists, look on Brexit as an opportunity to dump regulations and international committments, so perhaps we'll no longer bother quite so much with environmental protection, clean air, employment rights and other things which interfere with the right of capital to maximise profits at the expense of the citizens. Theresa has already said she wants to abolish the rules that protect against imprisonment without trial, slavery, torture, and guarantee religious freedom and limited freedom of expression. Apparently these are considered to be lily-levered, pinko liberal concepts that do not conform to Conservative values.

You'll recall Cameron wanted to have a Bonfire of Regulations.

We know how that went.

Certainly the article is very vague, emotive not substantive.

In future perhaps source better articles.

So you're defending the diaphanous article you posted which you didn't have an opinion on. (y)

No, I posted an article that is very contrary to the wapo's usual narrative, which is why I thought it unusual.

It's an opinion piece, Olsen has also written in the Guardian. Opinion pieces are just that, a personal view.
