Hi all,

I've read here about render on blockwork planters failing, or showing damp spots. I have had one built on my drive, but not yet filled with topsoil.

Obviously I want to avoid having these issues. Should I line the planter inside with a sheet of PVC, up to the soil line? Or is there some sort of waterproofing I can paint onto the inner walls of the planter?

Thanks!
Tim

Will you provide drainage holes so the plants dont get get waterlogged or just lining the sides

Just lining the sides, as the bottom is open and it's very sandy below.

I wondered if a coat of Blackjack may a suitable alternative? Saves drilling into newly rendered walls, albeit from the un-rendered side
