How to remove and replace end roof tiles

My garage roof has a leak which ive traced to a small-ish hole in the roof felt around the 1st/2nd row of tiles up from the bottom of the roof.


With the soffit removed i can see that the hole in the felt goes right up to the last row of tiles that are bedded into mortar. (i think you call this area the verge?)

In order to make a proper job of the repair i think ill have to remove the tiles up to and including those on the verge to get a decent overlap with the membrane im going to fit and so i can fit the membrane over the top of the cement board.

Can anyone tell me how best to go about removing the tiles on the verge and the proper way to replace them once the repair is made?

(Im guessing its quite likely some may get broken on removal since they are bedded into mortar so might be an idea to get some spares in advance)

Ha yes you are correct!
I posted the pic on a related thread a couple of months back but put the job on hold til the weather improved .
Removed the tarp that i had covering the area and took the short section of soffit out which allowed me to get a better look at the problem.
Thats why im back with more questions

I the old thread was asking if i needed to remove the verge tiles to replace a water damaged soffit and barge board.... The outcome was not to move the verge tiles

At the time I traced the leak to a large amount of moss clinging to the edge of the verge causing water to run down the side onto the barge board/soffit

Didn't realise til removing the soffit there was also hole in the felt right next to the verge
