Whats the best way to wire a kitchen extractor?

I drew a quick schematic, would this be ok?

The connector block would be hidden behind the removable chimney so it is very accessible.
Heat and steam would go through the ducting, so its protected in that sense.

The connector block won't be buried behind the plaster.

Put the FCU where the connectors are.

The cable will have to follow the same route - horizontal then vertical.

I would advise you supply it from the cooker switch/circuit.

I proposed putting the FCU out of the way so I can turn it off completely before detaching the chimney. Otherwise I'd have to open the chimney first before turning the switch off.
What do you think?

Most are out of sight above the adjacent wall unit with the flex from there.

Leave the FCU where it is but use a small (i.e 2a or 5a) socket instead of the connector block.

My adjacent units go up to the ceiling so unfortunately can't get nothing in there.

Instead of the FCU, is there any chance I can wire the extractor fan directly into a plug? I would of course have the correct fuse in the plug. Some of the wire would be buried behind plaster.
