I need to remove my kitchen extractor so I can get the walls plastered. In my previous house the extractor had a standard plug on it that was plugged into a socket that was hidden in the chimney, which was nice and simple. This extractor however has T&E cable dropped down from the loft above and wired directly into the extractor.

Is it ok to just wire this into a terminal junction box while the plasterer is doing his thing??

Yes.

Make the conductors safe so the plasterer does not have to dodge bare live wires while throwing sloppy skim on the wall.
