Hi, I intend to fit a new kitchen soon and will be fitting a stainless steel cooker extractor. The power for this will be from a single socket on the ring main, with the extractor connected via a 3 pin plug with the correct fuse in. However the socket will be hidden behind the false 'chimney stack', which is easy removable for access, in order to isolate the extractor. Basically the question is 'is this ok'

Yes, "OK" but better would be to provide a flex outlet point behind the chimney supplied from a switched fuse spur located in close proximity to the extractor.
