Hotpoint H20 problem

Hi,
I have taken the Hotpoint WMF760 apart last Monday & fitted new bearings.
I have put the item back together & done a few washes outside on the drive no problem at all.

Yesterday & today with the machine still on the drive i get a beep & i see H20 is the display.
I turn the water on a little more & also switch the machine off then back on again at the mains.
Did 3 washes fine from then on as family returned back from holiday.

I have just started another was & again beep H20
Same as yerterday, turn water on a little more & off / on with the electrics.

I still have the beep & H2

What i now hear is the machine allowing water to come into the machine but i dont see the drum filling up but i do see water flowing out of the grey outlet tube ?

The grey drain tube needs to rise above the drum height before fixing into a drain.....have you done that?

No
it just comes stright out the machine,along the floor & into the outside drain.
So your saying the grey tube should go up a foot or so then out to the drain correct ?

There is no valve in the drain system, the pipe is just open and relies on the pipe being raised up some way/ the drain pump having to raise the water over the top of the inverted U of the pipe. It always leaves a little water in once pumped out, the only way to get that last water out, is to lower that drain pipe below the washer.

So what causes the H20 erro.
I assumed that error means no water or not enough going into the machine but it sound likes its the opposite and tells you there is an issue with draing ?
Maybe you could also explain that.

It is probably complaining that it is not seeing the water level rise, despite opening the fill valve for more than long enough.

If the previous advice fails to cure your problem then try checking the motor brushes.
H20 is as you suspect, no water filling which is monitored by the pressure switch which requires water in the drain pump sump on some machines.

I’ve read the replies thanks.
I read the is no valve in the drain system.
Also requires water in the drain pump sump.

After I posted this here yesterday I switched it off & turned up the water a little more.
Once it was switched in I did two cycles fine.

I must say I do remember that when I was cleaning off the drum on the lawn with the hose pipe I cleaned out the grey hose but reversing the flow from then end of the grey hose towards the drum. At this point the drain pump was still connect to the grey hose and I did here a slight pop.

Does that indicate maybe a one way flap is now facing the wrong way etc.
Having said that and if it’s true the the water would never be able to exit but thought o would mention it.

I doubt there is a valve in your drain pump, that would just be something that would increase the chance of the pump blocking up. The noise you heard may just have been the impeller being turned by the water flow from the hose pipe.
