Outbuilding to Granny Annex

Yes it does and like most councils’ fees are published on the council website. The scope of work, as described earlier, didn’t fall into standard fee structure hence an email to the BC to clarify the correct fee

You application has been reviewed and can now confirm the charge to pay is now £420.00.
I guess we can call a result that they reduced the cost, but would it still be classed as fair?
 
I am not sure what it includes but i guess its just one-off payment.
The message does not make it a clear reading unfortunatley, even we are not sure what is their scope of work and what would we get out of this payment? For example, would BC issue a change of use certificate once the kitchenette is installed?

Didn't you say you had submitted a building notice ? Building notice charges include vat.

Great so we can 'lawfully' use the outbuilding as Granny Annex. I guess that would make my FiLvery happy.

That isn't what I said. You need to understand that building regulations approval is different from planning permission and also, submitting a Building Notice and paying the charge to Building Control doesn't mean you have now obtained building regs approval. The work will need to be checked on site to see that it complies.
Called our council and they asked me to write to BC explaining what needs to be done, the person answered the phone didn’t think i need PP as the outbuilding already granted one.
I have dropped an email to BC explaining the current situation.

Ahha, agree we need to have initial BC inspection and then carry out the proposed kitchenette installation and then final inspection before we get the certificate to use as lawful.

As for the PP, we got the PP when we applied for the building erection (its a new built and we were granted the PP back in 2016) hence the assumption that that building does not need PP as it was granted back then hence the assumption that we are asked to liaise with BC?
