Hi i am having issues with my boiler been fine all summer tested it about 3 weeks ago all ok, went to switch heating on and the thermostat talks to the receiver(we have hive) but the fire does not click , if we put hot water on then it clicks and fires up, then if we put heating on while hot water is on the radiators get warm,, Any ideas would be grateful.. Thanks.

More than likely a 3 port valve ( possibly in airing cupboard ) has stuck

Thanks i don't seem to have one in the airing cupboard.

Has this problem suddenly occurred when you've tried to use the central heating? Possible seized pump.

Just thought i would update, it seems the issue was with the hive receiver that some how changed from gravity mode to normal mode.. Anyway all fixed,
