Hi.

Everything was going well with dormer construction until today. Feel quite disappointed. I managed to get a height of 2.2m from the ridge beam.

Today the builders constructed the rear dormer. They were informed the slope is 75mm on a 4.1m roof. Did say 1:60 slope on drawings.

When I looked at it this late afternoon I noticed it more slopey so took a quick measurement and towards the front of the dormer where windows will go the height is 2.08m.

That's 55mm more! The dormer cheaks have been studded and roof joists have been fixed and ply sheets have been nailed on roof so too probably late now to sort it

Don't know what I can do now.

I've been quite happy with the work so far though I've had to keep a close eye.

Quite stressed about it all.:(

Look at the bright side...
Surely there will be no water pooling on the roof.
I had the same moment when I did my dormer (I didn't do the roof)

I probably would if I wasn't 6ft4 :(

Oh ******!

Just about over it now. Maybe it's for the best. Though it's hard to believe builder with 20 years experience can make such a school boy error!

I still have around 10cm above head after finishing. So maybe not as bad as initially anticipated.
