'Prior to that' being of course more than a year earlier...
And an A300 transmitting on a civilian frequency is so similar to an F-14 when targeted by the most sophisticated US vessel of it's type at the time
And being illegally in Iranian waters doesn't exactly help the argument!

In the old days 2 armies would meet on a battlefield somewhere and fight it out.
Nowadays everywhere is the front line. I read somewhere that since the industrialisation of warfare, WW1 was the last war were the majority of casualties were military, apart from the Falklands war that maybe true.
