Good evening,

My (open vented) Wilo circulating pump has started to make noise, and sometimes some radiators (usually upstairs) don’t seem to get hot. I’ll try and video the noise, but can’t seem to load vids on here. The noise is similar to what I’ve heard in Vaillant Ecotec pro’s, like there’s air trapped.

I’m thinking I may need a replacement, but as I’m moving house, don’t want a mega expensive one. I’ve seen one of these on offer http://www.circulatingpumps.co.uk/cp50-60-circulating-pump/ as well as the Wilo Yonos pico, however I fitted a cheap Wilo one a number of years back and swapped for a Grundfos (my preference) as it was broke from the get go. I’m yet to price one through work, but has anyone had any experience of the other 2 mentioned,or any other cheaper one?

Thanks.

Check your upper floor level isn’t running out of water perhaps due to the feed and expansion tank being out of water or the feed pipe blocked somewhere.
The pump in your link is a decent pump and should be good. I have used them. You will actually see if you compare it to Wilo and some other brands to be near identical body.

I’ll check upstairs rads, they do get hot, but not all the time, and one bedroom one seems to need bleeding every so often but can’t see any leaks. Trouble is it’s a 10 year old new build (we had from new) and the rad pipes are behind the wall in 10mm speedfit. I can’t see the feed pipe being blocked as it’s newish, and as I said they get hot sometimes, but usually have to turn the room stat up. Upstairs is often cold.

I noticed that and thought it strange. That is clearly a typo. It probably is supposed to be 30 months warranty.

Definitely a typo, other page.....

You can still get cheaper pumps that are B rated.
But they look like copies of Grundfos pumps and come in different brand names, so I suspect they are Chinese. Risky to use them as I know some that were noisy or failed to operate fully.
