Hello,

This is a presumably 20 year old boiler. I’m currently living in a place set to be renovated before sale in a few months but a couple of months ago the boiler stopped igniting.

It had a broken pump which I replaced as you can see from the pic, then it worked again.

Then a few months later, I was standing by the sink and saw a small flash and the gas cut making water cold and no rads.

The fuse works, the fan starts then the click, but no gas lights.

What could be the issue? I know it will probably need a gas guy to look but I could do without spending presumably a minimum of 200£ on it?

Any ideas, cheers

Could be a number of things with you seeing a small flash. Best case scenario is to get a gas safe engineer in, imo.

You’ve got the whole story.

knobs are broke, they’re plastic and after certain amount of turns they crack/split and don’t twist.

cover is off because when it stopped we were going to start the refurb and I changed pump that seized up.

guage is low because I emptied the system.

as I say, power is there, fan starts up, hear
The attempt to ignite but no action.
