Further to me trying to fix the glug in our kitchen sink, the pipe under the sink that leads outside is now leaking on a join. It's one of those glued together pipes.
Is there any way of mending this (silicone/whatever?) or will I have to get someone to fix it?

Choices are, cut out and re do that section with new pipe/fittings, 'Gap filling cement' may seal the gap (and leak), or bodge with tape/silicon/anything else you think will seal it.

Any particular brand of gap filling cement? Would plumbers mait do it?

Silicone, if you want to go the squodgy route, applied to dried surface and given overnight to cure would be much better.

Hugh's answer, of course, is the correct one.

Cant see the pic but cutting out and replacing is certainly the best option.

That being said if it's leaking at a fitting that hasn't been glued properly then it can sometime be repaired by drying it completely, running a stanley blade into the gap to clean it and then re-glue and then apply pressure. Not guaranteed but maybe worth a try.
