Can you tighten the actual handle on uPVC windows? Not the base as I’ve tightened those but it’s the actual handle that is loose.

Some are obviously loose with the constant opening and closing and sometimes stiffness of them.

I’ve tightened all the bases and used WD40 on the window hinges so it’ss loot better now.

However the handles you can still wobble about and so wondering on those. I want to be sure before I take one off in case snaps or can’t get a replacement, and then be stuck not being able to repair in today’s situation.

They are lockable, press type.
Thanks

As Herts P&D says , you can't tighten the actual handle to the ' base' , the fixing inside wears away over the years and eventually will fail, very common. Best to get replaced as soon as you can

Ok thanks everyone, looks like need a couple of new ones then, glad I asked before removing in case. Plenty YouTube videos on replacing, couldn’t find any with tightening the actual handle, know why now.

Thanks again for help, I’ll look on Screwfix.
