Yes it's a filter, screw it back in and try a wash cycle and see what happens.

Seems like cap wasn't lined up. Ok now.
Should I undo the cap every now and then to let it drain as part of looking after machine?
It's quite damp behind machine, any advice as do want to ruin the concrete flat floor
