Afternoon :-)

Following on from my last post about my pre-historic central heating system:

https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/at-my-wits-end-with-this-heating-system-please-help.544102/

Although this has now been patched up and is working reasonably well, ultimately, in about 18 months time I would love to rip out the whole shooting match and start again - a complete new system, as this is old and woolly, I want the boiler to be relocated out of sight under the stairs and not on the kitchen wall - so may as well have a new one. All of my radiators are looking their age and have been painted hundreds of times, they are also imperial sizes.

What I would like some advice on is what type of setup to go for. I have a 3 bedroom semi with 7 rads, but I want to up that to 9 (a plinth heater in the kitchen, and a rad on the landing), and I have one bathroom.

I like the idea of the cylinder/immersion backup but I really would love to get rid of any plumbing up in the roof. Also where a boiler is concerned money is no object - I want solid, simple, reliable (if such a thing exists). My current boiler has never given me any grief as such but I`ve never been blown away by it - it faffs around too much!

Sorry for so many questions but I want to plan this out before I bite the bullet and get it done. Thanks

Combi.all new Rads, forget the plinth heater, they are a pain and waste of time.cylinder/ immersion heater???.No.Like having a spare car Incase one ever breaks down.If electric cuts,,immersion no good.combi,fault,,,7 or 10 years warranty,,,Repaired in day or two..After warranty,,,repaired in max day or two.

Go for an Intergas Xclusive boiler with a decent OpenTherm controller. You won't be disappointed
