Just fitted a new toilet

However i would like to know whether I've done a decent job or am i asking for trouble with that kink in the flexi tail?

If it is a cowboy job, could i get some suggestions on how to get it right please?

The bend in your flexi is too high because the connection point for the flexi is too high and your hose is too short.

I'd use a flexi hose with a built in iso valve which would lower the connection point to the compression joint where your iso valve connects on to the the copper tee and would make the bends smoother.

The fact you are asking means that deep down you know it isn't quite right?? Never kink a flexi hose as it creates stress on the braiding.

The ideal with that would have been to put an angled ISO valve on that to bring it left then hard piped the connection to the inlet valve.

On the basis that you are unwilling to correct your first mistake by relocating the through-wall spigot some 150mm to the left, I'd suggest you start by running horizontal from the spigot, turn vertically upwards in line with the cistern connection, fit a vertically orientated service valve then shape a length of copper to connect to the cistern inlet.

Flexi with the built in iso valves are stupid!

I am aware you probably mean an ISO valve but just in case a diy'er went and ordered one specifically.

A service valve would have one compression end and the other end would have a flanged tap connector end that would fit directly onto the fill valve inlet.

Yes, i had a sneaky feeling that it was a bit of a bodge job :D:D

However i was scratching my head on how i could rectify this..

Thanks for the help and advice lads (y)

Depends why you're fitting the iso valve. If you're fitting it to make install easier and to allow you to disconnect whatever the flexi is connected to at future date, they're not stupid.

The iso valves tend to be poor quality for one thing and I'd rather have the option of changing the flexi on it's own if needed which might be more often than you realise.
