Cannot upload media -security error

Hi all,

Been trying to upload some pictures of my latest project, and I'm getting the following error:

The following error occurred
Security error occurred. Please press back, refresh the page, and try again​

I'm uploading from a local disk drive, using chrome, etc..

Anyone got any ideas what might be causing this?

what's the file size?

Which buttons are you using, in what order, while trying to upload?


You can also "copy and paste" photos into your post.

Hi John,

Image is 10Mb (4608x3456) - so in theory it'll be resized.

sequence of events:

goto media page.
Hit orange 'Add media' button at top
Choose my album - it's a new one, with no files in it yet, but adding to existing albums yields same results.
for upload type, I select 'upload from my files' radio option
click upload image
browse to image (for arguments sake it's on my desktop now, but it fails regardless of local location) - select one (or many, equally failure prone), select, hit ok
I see the progress bar, upload speed is acceptable.
on completion, 100% - i get the aforementioned error, along with the image file name - in this instance it is : 20200511_130602.jpg

much frustruation.

Will try the copy and paste trick in the meantime - thanks.

the text on the add media page that says:

Your Quota:
Images will be resized so they are no bigger than 2400px x 2000px. More Details​

in the interest of exploring all options:

• renamed the image to a short filename with just alphanumeric characters - no different.
• 
  
• Resized locally and uploaded - it works!
• 
  
• however cut and pasting into a regular forum post brings up a similar error - irrespective of image size.
