Hi sorry if this has been asked before but I’m new to the forum.

I’ve recently brought a rangemaster from eBay for a bargain of £205!

Bar the hob, everything works on it perfectly, however I was aware/made aware the hob ran on bottle rather than mains! So the hobs only get a tiny flame even though the gas pressure tests as over 4.

We’ve tried swopping out the jets to 17mm n cleaned them out in coke but still doesn’t get a high flame ..... rangemaster have said you can’t uncovert back to original but we can’t see how it can’t be?!

any advice please?

ps.... when it’s installed and fixed we will be getting a gas safety check as partner is trained but hasn’t kept up with his corgi as is an electrician.

Sorry, DIY gas advise not allowed. Some of the terms you have used are very confusing which suggests you really should get someone to look at it who knows what they are doing.

Hey thanks for reply n totally understand what ur saying but my partner is gas trained just doesn’t have recent certs.

We’ve had a plumber around n he’s checked it’s all safe n checked the pressure, so was hoping to get advice on the Jets/hob parts we might need to buy then get him back in.

If he has already looked at it why can't he tell you what is needed? You've have said that Rangemaster, a reputable manufacturer, have advised it can't be done.
