Hottest 37 maybe 38. 38 was the official figure but official figures are taken in the shade.
I put my sensor in direct sunlight under the pergola this afternoon and it shot up to 46.6 in a matter of minutes.

Coldest I have experienced is probably the minus 8 a few years ago when I was about to go to work.

I was dripping sweat at work today, and thats just stood still.
I'll be taking the stand fan thats currently blowing at me in with me tomorrow, no way am I climbing underneath a boiler wiring it in his heat without it.

So just out of interest, what's the highest temperature people here have experienced?

Or indeed the lowest?
-23 in Norway and so much snow I couldn't see much other than the top of the car.
-30 in Sweden, in the North.. luckily just for 36 hours for work!

+ 35 plus in Iran
and funnily enough Italy was roughly the same temp as the Middle East when I went to Rome.

A storm can't come too soon, I've done nothing today.
That's the problem with it isn't it? As soon as get up to do anything, have to sit back down in front of the fan!

Just been out now for a walk to stretch my legs, still so so warm but more comfy.

I've become a slave to my fitness tracker since just before lockdown, so I'm feeling compelled to do something every day......

I have a separate garage out back, with a corrugated steel roof. Hot as hell in there, but it's where the gym equipment is.

So, this afternoon (to get my daily points total done), I did 30 minutes on the elliptical machine. In 40 degrees C.

You could have wrung me out

But many of those retirees will probably have to get used to the UK climate again soon!

The reduction in value of the pound is one obvious reason. Many retirees depending on UK pensions now find themselves struggling financially.
Additionally, those that never bothered to seek permanent settled status may well find that they will no longer have the right to remain in EU.
And many UK ex-pats, did not bother to seek permanent settled status because they couldn't be bothered to learn the language, or pay for an interpreter to assist. Therefore they don't even know the process or understand the need for it. Many UK ex-pats are still under UK tax registration, again not having bothered to explore or process the change. That also means that they are also still registered for medical treatment in UK, not in their new country of choice.

Like that’s going to happen!
Are you suggesting that UK will not deport those that never sought settled status, and the EU will also not deport those in the same status?

Then why the big promo' over seeking settled status in UK?
Why bother with the concept and process at all?

We might, they won’t. Didn’t you notice the scream up the Spaniards made when we imposed a quarantine on returning from Spain. Don’t kid yourself, British tourism and British retirees are essential for the Spanish economy.
