Square edge or Tapered Plasterboard?

Ceilings and walls will have plasterboard put down and then skimmed over with multifinish.

So do I go for square edge for walls and ceilings or go for tapered edge.

With square or tapered - do all joins and corners need to be taped with scrim tape?

The whole house is getting boarded and plastered so will be buying in 2 pallets of plasterboard so I don't want to get this wrong.

Drywall screws into the ceiling joists -

60, 65 or 75 mm?

One more point the upstairs ceilings have all been dropped so the joists are exposed - so what size screw for plasterboard directly onto the joists?

38mm?

Will be overboarding over the downstairs ceilings - its old lathe plaster ceilings.

So no harm in going for 75mm or 65mm?

38 is good. do you have a screwgun/drywall driver?
for overboarding i usually use 55mm
but yes you could use longer screws.

Just working out how thick plaster finish needs to be - should 3mm do it or should I go thicker - will be onto plasterboard.

Also in bathroom - what type of plasterboard should I go for - I need tile backing board -but so many options - I want to go for best water tight finish. Will be tiled over so do I need epoxy grout?

if your’e competent plastering , the flatness of your walls and ceilings will dictate how thick your plaster will be.
two coat everything.
my opinion on bathrooms won’t necessarily be the best advice for you as i tend to stick with pb.
there are several tilebackers on the market . maybe worth starting a seperate thread in ‘tiling’
