Hullo all,

This is attached to the side of my cylinder and I believe it's a "cylinder thermostat"... but it is a quite anonymous thing - no labels or anything, and the logo is one that I cannot decipher (I have tried a reverse Google search on it but I'm sure those in the know will be able to advise better). Is it possible to learn who the manufacturer of this is, and the model of it?

Also, what does the small black knob do? Obviously the large dial is a temperature setting and it looks like mine is set at just over 60 degrees... so I presume that even if my boiler was emitting hot water at 90 degrees, and the cylinder was at its maximum, then it would stop more hot water going in there? So it's an added safety device?

Oh, Google reverse image search suggested a "honeywell bdr91" but I don't think so. :cautious:

Looks like an unvented cylinder thermostat, not sure of the little knob or manu though.

Ah... yes, it just unscrews and pops off... and there's a red thing, pushed in... I thought it was another dial. Thank you. I understand it a little better now.

Bit of a design flaw...I came across one where the tenant had wedged a stone in the cap to stop the button popping out on overheat...shouldn't be user accessible IMHO.
