I have a Range tribune HE with two expansion vessels. We have two showers, one on the first floor which is fine but the one on the second floor’s pressure has dropped and it takes ages to get hot water coming through.

The reading on the dial on the red cylinder was 0 so I turned the two valves and put it back to 1.5 but it has made no difference to the shower pressure (pic attached)

Any ideas please

I have a similar setup - Ive turned the valves on the red cylinder and the pressure is back to 1.5 but it hadn’t made a difference to the low pressure in the shower on the top floor. Any ideas?

Yes, the pressure you’re referring to topped up is for the heating system/boiler and has no bearing on your pressure to the shower. Might be better starting your own thread on this one.

The pressure on the first floor shower is fine, just the one on the second floor that is the problem

I didn’t know it was against the rules, just joined. I’ll know for next time.

It won't do. That's the pressure in your central heating system, not your cylinder. The pressure in your cylinder can't be altered, although it could be being affected by a faulty inlet valve. Are there any other hot outlets on the second floor, and if so are they similarly affected?

Just the sink in the en suite although it’s harder to tell the water seems to be ok pressure wise and definitely heats up more quickly than the shower is doing

More likely to be a problem with the shower. The hot water pressure leaving the cylinder is pretty much the same at all hot outlets. A tad less to higher floors but not appreciable.

Any ideas on what I can check shower wise or will I need a plumber?

Show us a pic of the shower. Filters would be first thing to check.

Isolate the water supplies to the bar mixer. Undo the two nuts ( immediately in front of the round chrome cover plates) . The bar valve will then be free. The filters are on the inlet ports.

Sorted! Thank you very much, greatly appreciated
