Why not post pics of the room and the outside of the wall?

You could ask the mods to move your post to the plastering forum?

The kitchen has been stripped back to brick with a new concrete floor slab installed.
The kitchen has one side which is an exterior wall and the walls/house is roughly 100 years old and is two bricks thick without a cavity.

Thank you
every ‘professional’ will give you a different answer.

This professional will give you the correct answer esp. if you provide the info requested to show the conditions you would be working on.

he said it’s a 100 year old brick wall. every picture of a brick wall looks pretty much like the next picture of a brick wall.
how many pictures of 100 year old brick walls ,through bobasd vinn ree ted and tel do you need to see before you know what a 100 year old brick wall looks like.
and what’s outside the house got to do with anything?

Such ignorance - why do you keep shooting yourself in the foot? Why? Thick as a brick comes to mind.
You've obviously never worked on a site - have you even walked past one?

Why make building professionals sick with laughter at your ignorant bombast - so you consider crumbling, soaking with damp brickwork to be "pretty much like the next ... brick wall"? No matter the state of the brickwork, no matter that ground level is higher than FFL, and the external face is covered with blown render or decaying pointing?
What have such possible conditions "got to do with anything"?

Please, do stop attempting to give OP's your ignorance disguised as rants of the day. We ask you please stop.

Fwiw: you didn't even notice two significant & relevant factors in the pics - did you?
