Wiring a Optimum RF Room Duostat to Lifestyle Lp111

Hi,

I am trying to remove what I believe is called a Communicating thermostat and replace it with a Optimum Duostat

I am struggling with the wiring I have half a clue but dont want to blow anything up

Right the first image is the old thermostat wiring

Terminal 2 = Grey Wire with blue shield goes to Neutral on the LP111 Board
Terminal 3 = Black Wire goes to Terminal 3 of LP111 Board Referenced (On)
Terminal 1 Black Wire with Brown Shield Goes is connected to a chock block that goes to a White wire with brown shield going straight to the boiler


This is the wiring of LP111

From the LP111 Wiring another Black with Brown shield wire goes from LP111 Terminal 3(Com) to the boiler

And this is the image of the Duostat

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe I connect the Live and neutral of the lp111 to the live and neutral of the Duostat

Its just the Shielded cables I need to know where to put these

Its mainly the black with brown shield from themostat and Black with brown shield from LP111 to Boiler thats frying my brain

Any help is much appreciated and thanks in advance for any help you can give

You can put the receiver where the Honeywell was and use the following:

L (Black with brown sleeve (not shield)) to L
N (Grey sleeved with blue) to N
Link L to 2
Switched (Brown wire) output (230vac) is number 1

Thanks for the reply but this does not work, I have been told that the thermostat is a communicating thermostat so it does not have a 240v feed (Dont shoot the messenger) as I am not sure

The black wire with a brown shield goes from the thremostat to the chock block and then straight to the boiler (Image 2) -Is that still a live????

Should I try to wire the Optimum up to a known live and neutral to make sure that is booting up?

post pics of the duostat and the receiver you are trying to install, there are many different ones

Mount the receiver by the LP111.
Disconnect the old thermostat and make wires safe both ends.
Connect L in programmer to L in receiver, N in programmer to N in receiver, link L to out 1, connect the wire (to boiler?) in the connector to out 2.
Mount transmitter on wall where thermostat was and insert batteries.

Just to confirm before I burn the house down

I have 2 wires going to the boiler

1= Black with Brown Sleeve that currently sits on Terminal 3 of LP111 Called COM
2= White Wire with Brown Sleeve coming from thermostat going into the chock block

And what happens/do I need to do with the brown wire coming from the thermostat to Peg 5 (Image 2) of LP111 which is called ON

if the duostat is a programmable room thermostat which most are, then the receiver replaces the LP111 they will conflict with each other if you keep both

Hi It is a programmable one but we normally keep the LP111 constantly ON without using its programmable timer, to be fair I do not think we will ever use a timer

Thanks for all your help on this one I finally got the thing working.

Nothing wrong with the advice on here but I can give some advice with this unit.

I had issues with it connecting to the receiver, the battery meter showed 100% so I ruled that out, turns out 1day later that Panasonic batteries from Home Bargains do not cut the mustard, bought some Duracells and everything came to life and connected to the receiver with no issues.
