Hi All,

This may have been asked before, but I need some help wiring up my honeywell 2 port valve to my heatlink, after some dodgy electrician was useless.

This is the current set up and, the zonal valve stays open constantly, so when the UFH is live, so are the radiators:

I can see that N and E are wired up right, but the peach colour (assume this is meant to brown) links to 3 on the nest, which is call for heat. Where do the orange and grey wires go to?

Thanks in advance!

I’m guessing the grey would be a permanent live, and orange would be the switching wire, as it is on a normal heating system.

what a bloody mess to say the least, the grey should be a permanent live , and the orange goes to the switched live on the boiler , and you have a 2 port zone valve not a zonal valve, you should have 2 at least of these

Thanks guys, yeah we have two zonal valves, the first one does what it says on the tin, opens when called for, closes otherwise...

This one is for the rads, right now when the UFH comes on the morning, the radiators do as well.... So orange would link to 3 on the heat link (call for heat)? Would I then link grey to the live wire on the 5 port connector or would I wire it to the brown in the heat link?

So the wiring at the Nest, is that from UFH? What previous controls were there?

The Nest is only for the radiators, this zonal valve is also only for the radiators. Just being clear, the UFH works totally fine!

Well something is amiss, and unclear.
Apologies if I am being unclear. I'll try again

The UFH heating works fine in the sense that, when the UFH thermostat is calling for heat, the boiler comes on and thus the UFH begins to heat up, passing through the UFH zonal valve (zone 1) which has also opened to allow the hot water to pass through to the pipes. The problem occurs that when the above happens, the zonal valve that controls the radiators (zone 2), does not close and is constantly open, therefore, when the UFH comes on, so do the radiators. They should work independently.

Chris_W does that help at all?

So this is what I am going to do, any objections?

None from me. How will the boiler know to fire up for rads though? Your switch live output (orange usually) goes to boiler switch live - this then tells the boiler to bring the heating on.

The nest thermostat would click on, (wirelessly) speak to the heatlink (this all works fine). The heat link should call for heat, and therefore open the zonal valve.

Ordered some wire stippers off Amazon, will report back tomorrow with an update. Thanks for the help!
