I used to know a bloke who flew seafires (carrier version of the spitfire), probably dead now, after a brief training session, he had to do a landing on the carrier to get the gig. He reckoned taking off was easy enough but landing was tricky, especially if there was a bit of a swell. Anyway as he came in (and down), the ship went up and clipped his undercarriage so he slid along the deck minus his wheels. Instructor told him it was near enough and he got the job.

I should add, he wasn't a complete novice, he'd flown Hurricanes before that. Lovely old bloke, you could talk to him for hours about his life experiences, as I often did.

The Tory donors who buy it up cheaply. Plenty of opportunities for creating large, industrialised farms or development. The nicer bits will do for their private estates.

Hit the nail on the head. Ontop the Government has a scheme paying upto £100k for famers to retire early. Sell the land off cheap to Tory developers to create mega farms and more housing development (well in theory as they will just land bank).

Then watch them turn around and say these mega farms need subsidies to fight off the cheaper imports and the public will just lap it up and vote for them.

Many Tory voting areas are already worried about changes to planning rules and new developments. And that's before the fire sale of huge swathes of cheap farm land. Poss one of the reasons for the Lib Dem by election win the other day. Going to be interesting.

When UK livestock farming is in the same state as our fishing industry, farmers won't be able to pay their bills. True some may hand on being paid to retire or become stewards of the countryside. Many won't, especially tenant farmers. Many livestock farms are unsuitable to change to crops of the size and scale that would be economically viable.

We currently import almost 250,000 tons of beef per year from the EU, a large part of that from Ireland. The trade deal with OZ caps beef imports at 35,000 tons per year. To balance our beef imports, 35,000 tons less will be imported from the EU. As those figures gradually adjust over 15 years, while Australian beef imports increase, EU beef imports will decrease.
How exactly is this going to bankrupt UK farmers?

Australia is only part of the picture. US, Canada and New Zealand will be next. Also the import caps are only time limited. If farmers have any concerns, they need only look to the fishing and fish processing industries to see how well their interests were protected.

You are not comparing like with like. We import most of our lower quality mince beef from Ireland. For Australia to make this deal work they will export the hgiher quality cuts (container costs have increased so sending cheaper cuts wouldn't be profitable).

So we will have Australia compete with out famers and not the imports from Ireland.

Currently we import about 2.5-3k tonnes from Astralia this will increase by over 10 fold, it will be about double what Australia exports to the entirety of the EU.
