HMS Defender: Russian jets and ships target British warship - BBC News

The RN has been doing this sort of thing worldwide since the year dot. But we don't normally hear about it. Its only making headline news because there is a BBC correspondent onboard.

As for the headline "Russians Target British Warship", that's just nonsense.

When you consider the Russian Air Force regularly skirt UK airspace to test our responses, todays news is just normal business.

Russians are not happy

doubt the french will send one of there ships there

So this is a great distraction on the fifth anniversary of Brexit.

Some people really are so easily manipulated.

Doesnt it depend on what is meant by "target"?

The Russians have stated that any future British naval vessel that transgress into the same waters will be bombed / attacked

And the Royal Navy will give them a good ignoring as the Royal Navy's mission is to ensure mariners can continue to navigate international shipping lanes.

Wonder if the. New UK/Babcock deal to bolster Ukrainian navy fleet is what's ticked the Russians off, and here was the perfect opportunity to muscle flex..

The Worlds navies are in awe of our Royal Navy and type 45's - and so they should be.
Bless them and keep them.
John :)

The Royal Navy's fleet of six Type 45 Destroyers are still waiting for a fault that could leave them sitting ducks to be fixed - eight years after it was first reported - the House of Lords has been told.

Not the fault of the Navy but commissioning is a bloody lark.
