"Graduates in the UK will be hit with a 50 per cent tax rate on any additional money they are paid by their employers after Boris Johnson increased national insurance rates to fund the NHS and social care reform.

People with student loans and incomes above the threshold to repay them will see 49.8 per cent of any increase in pay from their employers taken away in income tax, national insurance and student loan repayments."

"From next April, graduates such as teachers or marketing executives earning £30,000 will only get half of any pay increases granted by their employers despite paying an income tax rate of 20 per cent."

Mr Khan has increased the congestion charge or the area for older cars £12.50 a day he was asked on the radio

what about old duffers with older cars travelling to there children’s house to provide child care so
The parents can go to work

he had no answer and skirted around the issue

he did not care about the car tax on the poorer members of society

in case you did not know Khan is a
Labour mayor

( a scum bag ? )

Did these graduates not know that loans have to be repaid? £30k+ should be enough to live on shouldnt it - people with families get by on a lot less. Maybe they should have had one of those loans?

When you get to my level of wealth & income then paying tax really is optional.

I'd leave it there, but I feel the need to point out that my philanthropy & charitable donations far exceeds any tax you think I should waste.

My conscience is clear, I really do think I spend it better than the ****s you lot elect to positions of power.

Did you not know it's actually cheaper for taxpayers as a whole for there not to be tuition fees?

How do think they do that in many European countries?

£30k+ should be enough to live on shouldnt it - people with families get by on a lot less.
People who take advantage of the system don't understand the reality...

'Getting by' is ok?

Don't you mean just about surviving!

But those people who believe such things are usually the ones who have gained the most from the economic follies of the past as they get into their dotage, and don't give a monkeys about the next generations (n)

Better-educated people are less likely to vote conservative.

H'mmmm, how can we discourage higher education among the working classes?

Most wealth in this country is held by the richest and best-paid fraction.

H'mmmm, how can we raise more tax money?
Better put up National Insurance for the working man.

Tory cuckold answered the question himself. Why is childcare so expensive. That's the bigger issue than unpaid child and social care.

Stick to picking up dog mess, as your post is one steaming pile of poo.

The loans system costs more than free tuition in the way its managed.

So people should live less frivolous lives - that's a weird one when Tory neo liberal policy has been to encourage ever more consumption - which now accounts for over 60% of our GDP.

Oh look...

"Ministers are reportedly planning to lower the salary level at which graduates start to repay their student loan, in a move that has already sparked opposition MPs to accuse the Tories of “widening the gap” further for low-earning workers.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak reportedly wants to overhaul student financing in his spending review ahead of October’s Budget, according to the Financial Times, over concerns in the Treasury that the taxpayer foots too large a bill for university courses.

Currently graduates begin paying back their loans when they earn £27,295 or more, but one unnamed minister told the paper that “the plan” is to reduce that figure – with estimates appearing to suggest the government wants to go back below the £25,000 mark.

The 2019 Augar review of post-18 education recommended the threshold be lowered to £23,000 while the Higher Education Policy Institute think-tank this year modelled a cut to less than £20,000.

No final decisions are understood to have been made yet, however one minister told the FT a £20,000 threshold was considered “a bit low”.

Linky - Tax rise for the young

The old codgers who got their education for free and believe in fees just don't get it!

Ah shuddup you pair of overgrown student reps. I bet you both still wear jackets with leather patches on the elbows.
The truth hurts...

I dread to think of what you taught those 'students' before you took the taxpayer's money for doing nothing!

Poor mottie harbours lasting resentment against those who had a better education than him.

A pity, because when he was young, there were no tuition fees or student debt, and disadvantaged students could even get a maintenance grant.
