Good Afternoon,
New user so excuse me if this is not in the right section.
I live in a rented property, private landlord. There is a Baxi Main Eco Elite boiler installed, which I believe is around 4 years old.
I've lived here over a year, had this issue last winter too but seems a lot more this time round.
Basically, when you run the heating, every 2, 3 or 4 minutes the boiler will make a loud banging/thump sound. That's probably the most accurate way to describe it. It's similar to the combustion sound made by the boiler when you initially run the hot water taps.
I told the landlord about it a couple of weeks ago, when I turned the heating on for the winter. He did send someone round for the a boiler service (and annual Gas Safety Check at the same time). However, when the boiler man was here it didn't really make the sound (maybe because he played around with the settings as soon as he came in and it didn't run at the normal settings)
He did the service and said whatever it was should be fine now anyway, as the boiler looks ok otherwise. However, it started again a few hours after he left and has continued ever since and every few minutes interval.
I am going to talk to the landlord about it again, any idea what this could be and whether it's a normal sound for a boiler of this make ?
Thanks in advance.
