Hi all

I have an ageing potterton boiler and have some odd pressure behaviour after bleeding rads and refilling it - i overfilled it when I refilled it and had to bleed some pressure off through a rad. Since then, the pressure has been slowly creeping back up, leading me to bleed more off twice and suspect that the filling loop was still slightly open.

I closed the valves and it seemed stable last night, but overnight when the CH was off, the pressure went back up to 3.5 bar (this morn before the heating went back on).

Then it fell back to 2 when the CH had been on for a while. Any ideas?

If it is a combi and it continues with filling loop disconnected then suspect DHW HEX (plate to plate) pinholed

Thanks for responses all. I think I need to go and get caps for the filling loop and then I’ll have a go at disconnecting it.

no need just put a towel down, if it is working the way it should nothing will come out
