War Is Brewing.

Ukraine:confused:???

It seemed to be a western backed insurrection to me. Bound to upset Russia. Odd thing is no one knows what the people really think about it. There was a vote in the Crimea which NATO have dismissed even though there is no evidence of anything being wrong with it.

Odd isn't it - seems they have gas and oil. ;) No- that can't have anything to do with it.

The EU is in part to blame for this Ukraine caper

they were warned to keep there noses out but they never listened

and when push comes to shove they will be no where ;) apart from spouting hot air in a beer and sandwich meeting ;)

the french will see an opurtunity in the caper some where

scoundrels

In any event the Russians annexed part of Georgia years before pinching the Crimea

As Crimea is majority Russian there was no need for Putin to rig the vote.
He invited the Americans to send observers, the Americans declined probably because they didn't want to be in the position of endorsing as fair a referendum which they were telling the world would be rigged.

A lot of people in Ukraine would be happy with being part of Russia.

Have you asked them? Or more to the point has anyone?

Pass. Just struck me that we in real terms have no idea. Many countries have groups that aren't happy with their leaders- ;) even the uk, I vaguely recollect that there was a sort of independent Cornwall group. ;) Perhaps that goes back to when England taxed mine pumps as they were sent there. The welsh have feelings about water. Not sure what the Scots are at other than oil figures. :D

No in real terms I think international politics stinks and it probably always will.

Ah, the Sudetenland excuse.

Not really John, there really are Ukranian citizens who identify as Russian, to be fair, it's a far more realistic proposition than a bloke identifying as a bird for example.

The west are always quick to help out countries when there's oil or gas involved. If a country has none of those natural resources, they are left to get on with it.
