A new feature of the hideousness that is modern Britain is the discarded masks that can now be seen on pavements, in gutters and in hedgerows etc.

This chap, Nigel Watson, makes the interesting point that most mask wearing is done, not for the benefit of others, but for virtue signalling. For, if mask wearing were done for the benefit of others, no-one would throw to the ground a mask that might be saturated with the deadly and easily spread coronavirus.

Furthermore, if the government believed that coronavirus was as deadly and easily spread as they are telling us, they would provide disposal facilities for masks, or, better still, make the mask profiteers provide disposal facilities for masks.

We already have them, they're called bins.

Those that deliberately litter don't give a chuff about your health.

This is a weak Strawman argument….which I am surprised you can’t see through.

masks lying on the ground don’t spread Covid.

Along with dog shyte in a neatly tied plastic bag, these totally ineffective & carelessly discarded face masks are now the number 1 problem on my private land. Overtaking the crisp packets & energy drink cans of the underdeveloped brains of teenagers & even the foggy minds of the 2L PET bottle of white cider drinking deadbeats.

It takes a certain type of person to do this, & when you catch them red handed & point out the error of their ways, you begin to fully understand just how easily vexatious & spiteful they can become.

I have never had a problem with anyone who enjoys my land as much as I do. There has always been an unwritten rule that if you take nothing away & you leave nothing behind then you are welcome, yet these folk who wear their masks like religious zealots are the very same types that seem to take joy from watching a squirrel struggle to discard one wrapped around its neck.

I don’t think masks are generally discarded, I think they get dropped mostly

It is medical waste. There are several different levels of medical waste & I am not aware of which level allows them to be carelessly & casually discarded in such a flippant manner.

Perhaps you can enlighten us?

I'd like to hold your hand & walk you 'round my woods at dawn. I could do with a spare set of eyes to spot the litter, especially on a Monday after a weekend of good walking weather.

You wouldn't even need to touch anything dirty, unclean or even toxically hazardous, we are after all very well practised at this.

All I would ask of you is to explain to me exactly what "I don’t think masks are generally discarded, I think they get dropped mostly" means out there in the real world.

you’ll need some sort of link to prove that one.

clown’s got a ridiculous excuse for everything to reinforce his narrative.
You’re off the scale troll.

When No'1 son hit 15'ish he came home one night & mentioned how him & a few of his mates had been down the woods & just happened to spot the ALPHA Badger struggling with something wrapped around his neck.

Bless him. This was the very manifestation of the transition of him passing from a carefree childhood to becoming a responsible adult.

For 3x nights him & me, occasionally joined by his mates, wild camped in the woods & eventually trapped that 'old man' Badger to free him of his 'TESCO' carrier bag.

I want to hold the hand, & walk around my woods, anyone who feels the need to casually discard litter on a flippance.
