I need to replace an electric shower, and herself wants gold-effect, which is clearly not 'on-trend' at the moment. No probs, get white, and buy a goldy riser, hose and shower head.

Err... just about every maker says "No!" citing the PRD might pop. I became aware of this when I opened up the shower I bought, only to find the warning. On checking, just about all the ones I can find a manual for say the same.

Pros: is this a real likelihood, given that people change them all the time, just to avoid descaling/deep cleaning them? Or is it just another get-out clause for warranty?

We have never had a shower where the pipe n head weren't updated at some point.

Any thoughts? Ta.

1. It can cause the PRV to go if the hose has a narrower bore and / or the head is more restrictive.
2. Manufacturer's only have the best interests of their customers at heart don't they?
3. If you really want to change it, I'd just take the risk, after making sure my new hose was wide bore and the head not too restrictive.
4. Perish the thought the original shower head and hose be used a few times then stored ready for reinstallation if a warranty claim were needed.
