No wonder we’re broke..

“Hey Henry, you still have that contact for dodgy Chinese PPE?”

“Yes”

“Good. Set up an import company, quick smart”

“Why”

“We’re chucking hundreds of millions of pounds towards our chums and no one is checking. It’s this virus, it’s an absolute boon for dodging accountability and rife for ripping awf”

“Splendid I’m in. What’s the catch.”

“There isn’t one. We’ll say bung you a couple of hundred million, you buy 20 million quids worth of Chinese tat and you get to keep the rest. Set up an off shore company and get to keep even more”

“What if it’s duff gear”

“No accountability remember. It’s the virus”

“I’m in”

Could it be that the manufacturers lied about their products meeting the required standards and the manufacturer's dis-honesty was only found out after the contracts had been signed and sealed.

The company’s in the VIP lane had no experience in PPE at all - they had no contacts in the PPE sector and bought any old cr@p

The problem mainly is that businesses with experience in PPE procurement - including those who already were NHS suppliers, we’re sidelined in favour of bogus companies with no experience in the industry

The existing and approved NHS suppliers alone could not supply the large quantities of PPE that was necessary. Additional sources had to be found in a time critical situation. The bogus ( criminal ) companies took full advantage.

The neighbour of Matt Hancock who was a pub landlord got to the front of the VIP queue.

I'm no fan of our clown in number 10 and his cronies. To be clear I'm not fan of any politican as I just do not trust them

It is very important to remember that these contracts were gifted during unprecedented times.
The gov mde it clear that normal scrutiny was going to be absent as PPE was urgently required.

Having stated the above, an investigation into how the names were chosen and if anyone had put
the lucky names forward were forwarded by someone with clout within the gov.

Are you saying there will be an investigation?

There'll be a thorough investigation.
But it will never be published or discussed in parliament, because something more important will come along.

Brexit fiasco?
No, we must talk about covid
Covid fraud?
No, we must talk about the government breaking the law
Government breaking the law?
No, we must talk about Ukraine/Russia

What next? There'll be an investigation into money for Ukraine aid, refugees, weapon sales, etc etc. that will overshadow any investigation into PPE contracts.

But nothing will come of those either, as something else will come along... and so the corruption continues.

The Ukraine has already set that Boris wont be sacked. Wouldn't make sense to change leader while this is going on. I mean we are in such a powerful position to do anything about it. The Tory jumped on this very quickly.

Yes, that's what they said about Brexit, then covid, now war ... best keep the clown in charge!

Truth is, nobody else wants the job right now. They are not thinking about what's best for the country, only what's best for their political careers.

Doris can't believe his luck. Every time he becomes embroiled in one of his disasters/scandals (Brexit, PPE contracts, Partygate, etc, etc) along comes another international crisis or pandemic to get his sorry 'arris of the hook. Even Ukraine he may consider a gift so he can have his budget Churchill moment of glory.
