I cancelled all the timed heating a while back. We now just switch it on if/when we need it, which obviously isn't a lot at the mo. I also reduced the hot water to 20 mins a day. I thought I would start low and ramp it up 5 mins at a time if we ran out of hot water - but we haven't yet. Three of us in the house.
A lot of stories about today about people unplugging kettles because they think they are using phantom electricity. I'll bet the number of kettles that have anything in them using leccy when switched off is vanishingly small.
